Under the Guise of Security: Routing the Separation Barrier to Enable Israeli Settlement Expansion in the West Bank
Reports | Report | 01.09.2005
Report by B'Tselem and Bimkom demonstrating that one of the major considerations in the planning of many segments of the wall, was Israel's wish to include areas designated for new settlements and for the expansion of existing ones on the "Israeli" side of the wall. This contradicts Israel's claim that the wall's route was based purely on security reasons. The report presents test cases which include detailed analysis of plans for the expansion of four settlements and these plans' connection to the wall's route. The report also presents main findings in eight other cases where the wall's route was significantly affected by expansion plans for settlements.
