A Theory of Enclaves: Vinukorov E. Lexington Books, 2007.

Vinukorov explains that passage between a state and its enclave is established either by treaty or by custom. The fact that an enclave borders on more that one state, or on water, does not absolve the state of transit from its duties towards the state to which the enclave belongs. Even when alternative ways of access exist, in terms of economic efficiency there is usually only one reasonable route, and the fact that the enclave borders on a certain country only from one side does not invalidate that country's obligation to facilitate passage.
