Gaza DCO decision to severe communications with human rights organizations in Israel

Letter by MK Dov Hanin to the deputy defense minister regarding notification by the Gaza DCO of severing communications with and refusal to process applications by Israeli human rights organizations. MK Hanin stresses that considering circumstances on the ground, human rights organizations are the only channel available to Gaza residents wishing to exit and enter it and in many of the cases handled by the organizations, intervention lead to resolution of problems and saving of lives. MK Hanin also maintains that Israel’s breach of its duties toward the residents of Gaza, as the entity in control of the Strip even after disengagement, is a breach of international law and an injury to human life.
