Procedure for processing applications for Palestinians’ entry into Israel – clarification

Head of the Gaza DCO clarifies that his notice of severing communications with HaMoked and other human rights organizations regarding applications by Palestinians from Gaza to enter Israel does not constitute a severing of relations at all. He claims such requests must first be submitted to the Palestinian Civilian Committee. If substantive difficulties occur in the work with the Palestinian side, the organizations would be able to turn to the DCO on the matter, subject to written confirmation by the Palestinian Civilian Committee that it had previously submitted an application to the DCO. This demand ignores the Palestinian Committee’s refusal to cooperate with the organizations. Document available in Hebrew.
