CC (Jerusalem) 2899/98 - Abu Rian v. The State of Israel

Claim filed by HaMoked due to an injury caused to a Palestinian's arm and leg by undercover soldiers. During a family gathering and after having heard that his cousin had been kidnapped by the military, the Plaintiff went out into the street. When he saw undercover soldiers shooting in all directions, he tried to escape but was hit by the fire. As a result, he was hospitalized for a few days and remained bedridden for about a month. None of the many residents who had witnessed the event were questioned and the investigation was closed on the grounds that the Plaintiff had taken part in "breaches of the peace." The claim was rejected but the appeal was later accepted. See linked items.
