Limitations on Access to Higher Education for Palestinian Students

In this position paper, Gisha details the sweeping restrictions Israel imposes on movement of students from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank for the purpose of academic studies. Gisha claims that a policy which blocks Palestinian students' access to higher education is illegal, it violates the right to education, freedom of vocation and academic freedom of both Israelis and Palestinians. Gisha calls on Israel to cancel the sweeping prohibition and allow students from Gaza to travel to the West Bank and students who have been accepted for higher education in Israel to enter for the purpose of studies, all subject to individual examination of each application.
