Unlawful Attempt to Deport Two Palestinians to Gaza and Unlawful Detention

HaMoked's letter concerning the detainment of two Palestinians at the "Container" checkpoint for the purpose of deportation to Gaza, on the grounds that the registered address that appears on their ID cards is in Gaza. The pair's deportation was only prevented following HaMoked's intervention and after HaMoked stated explicitly that intends to immediately petition the HCJ. HaMoked again stresses that an attempt to deport Palestinians from the West Bank to Gaza on the basis of registered address as it appears in the population registry lacks authority and is therefore unlawful.
