AAA 8289/08 - Fasfus et al. v. The Minister of Interior et al. Notice of Appeal

Appeal against Administrative Affairs Court rulings rejecting HaMoked's petition on behalf of an Israeli resident whose application for family unification was denied for security reasons. The petitioner's application has been in processing for 14 years, and he had received an A/5 temporary permit, but when he last sought to extend the permit his request was denied for security reasons pertaining to his half-brothers, with whom he has no contact. HaMoked claims that rejecting a person's application due to a security risk emanating from a relative is a severe deviation from the principle of individual responsibility. HaMoked stresses the refusal harms the entire family, and is in fact a sentence of deportation.
