HCJ 9132/07 - Al Basyouni et al. v. The Prime Minister et al.Petition for an Order Nisi and an Urgent Request for Interim Order

Ten human rights organizations, including HaMoked, petitioned the HCJ against the Israeli Cabinet 19 September 2007 decision that: "additional restrictions will be imposed on the Hamas regime such that the transfer of goods to the Gaza Strip will be restricted, the supply of fuel and electricity will be reduced, and a restriction will be imposed on the movement of people from the Strip and to it”. If implemented, these steps will lead operating rooms, medical equipment, morgue refrigerators, ambulances and irrigation systems to stop working. The decision constitutes a deliberate choice to collectively punish, and severely injure, Gaza's civilian population, without ever claiming that it committed any kind of offence.
