HaMoked’s complaint to the state attorney regarding unacceptable conduct by security officials in the case of a West Bank Palestinian on whose behalf HaMoked petitioned for permission to travel to Malaysia for PhD studies. In contrast to the agreements reached in the petition that the travel preclusion would be lifted, the petitioner received a telephone call instructing him to report for a conversation with the ISA within the hour. The concerned petitioner complied and was told that the ISA was watching him. HaMoked stresses that threats and intimidation tactics by the occupying power against a petitioner whose case is pending before the court are entirely unacceptable and demands the state attorney examine the case and clarify to the relevant officials that it is strictly prohibited to contact petitioners directly and not via counsel.
