On September 27, 2016, HaMoked contacted the military to demand the removal of a roadblock which was installed ten days before at the entrance of the Aqraba Village in Nablus District. HaMoked pointed out that blocking the main entrance to the village – with some 12,000 inhabitants – caused heavy traffic, hampered the inhabitants’ ability to arrive to work and the entire village from functioning as usual. HaMoked stressed that punishing the whole village for stone throwing incidents committed by a few was unbalanced and wholly unacceptable.

In its response of November 9, 2016, the military refused to remove the roadblock, claiming it was necessary “following a situation assessment… in order to restore security and public order”.

However, that same day the roadblock was removed and the main entrance to the village was opened for traffic.
