The Gaza DCO’s Notice that It is Cutting Contacts with Human Rights Organizations
Response of 8 human rights organizations to the Gaza DCO’s notification of immediate cessation of processing applications by Gaza residents seeking permits to enter Israel submitted by HaMoked and other organizations. The organizations demand the DCO retract its ban and stress that human rights organizations are one of the foundations for guaranteeing human rights in democratic regimes, thus a boycott of them is an unacceptable and intolerable measure. Additionally, experience shows that many cases are processed only following the organizations’ intervention. Severing communications with the organizations means severe humanitarian harm to the civilian population in Gaza.
