Position Paper on Proposed Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law (Temporary Order) (Amendment) 5765-2005
In its position paper on the proposed bill, HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual states that, along with certain changes that facilitate family unification of Israeli citizens and residents with their spouses from the Occupied Territories, the bill proposes a number of provisions that will significantly reduce the exceptions to obtaining a status in Israel that are available pursuant to the temporary order in its current form. The proposed amendment is, therefore, nothing more than a sham and an attempt to preserve an unconstitutional statute.
