HaMoked’s letter to the Minister of Interior: Work permits for individuals holding Israeli stay permits as part of the family unification process

HaMoked’s letter to the Minister of Interior regarding work permits for individuals holding stay permits given as part of the family unification process. These individuals have a difficult time finding work as their stay permits read: “this permit does not constitute a permit for employment in Israel”. HaMoked argues that forcing family unification stay permit holders to obtain separate work permits violates their fundamental rights to equality, liberty, dignity and a livelihood disproportionately and for no purpose. HaMoked requests that Palestinians whose family unification applications are approved be automatically allowed to work in Israel.
