Re: Procedure on Security Agency Comments regarding Family Unification Applications

The Ministry of Interior's response to HaMoked's letter relating to the "Procedure on Security Agency Comments regarding Family Unification Applications". The Ministry announces that it has decided to revise the procedure, and will henceforth permit couples whose application for family unification was discontinued due to a security or criminal block, to present their arguments verbally at the bureau, before a final decision is made on their application. A summary of the hearing will be sent to the relevant agencies for comment, and the Ministry of Interior will decide on the application accordingly, within 30 days. The Ministry of Interior emphasizes, that in cases of new requests, only written arguments will be permitted, as stated in the current procedure.
