HCJ 8025/14 - Akari et al. v. GOC Home Front Command Response on behalf of the Respondent

State's response to HaMoked's petition against the military's intention to demolish the family home of the assailant in the ramming attack at Shim'on Ha-Tsadik light-rail station in Jerusalem. The state claims that given "the wave of terror attacks in Jerusalem in recent months [...] deterring assailants who are East Jerusalem residents from perpetrating attacks inside the country is critical"; more so given that some were "'lone terrorists' [...] willing to die in the execution of the attack". The state argues that HaMoked's claim that house demolition constitutes collective punishment and a grave violation of the rights of innocent people, has been previously rejected by the court and there is no cause to address it again.
