HCJ 8024/14, 8025/14 - Hijazi, al-Akri et al. v. GOC Home Front Command Judgment (Complementary)

Judgment in HaMoked's petition against the military's intention to demolish the family home of the suspected shooter of right-wing activist Yehuda Glick. Following the court's issuance of an interim order in the petition, directing the state to explain why it should not refrain from demolishing the home, the state retracted its demolition decision and proposed as an alternative to only seal the suspect's room. The court accepted the state's position and ruled that this was a balanced and "moderated" decision, wherein "proportionality is realized, which is relevant also when deterrence is concerned".
