HCJ 6685/09 Kahouji et al. v. Military Commander for the West Bank Petition for Order Nisi and Urgent Request for Interim Order
HaMoked filed a petition to prevent the forcible transfer of a resident of Hebron, a married father, to the Gaza Strip due to a dated address in the population registry. The state consented to his release on bail. The man had been living in the West Bank since 2006, where he moved from the Gaza Strip with an Israeli issued permit to transit through its territory. HaMoked notes that since 2000, Israel has halted the possibility of updating addresses from Gaza to the West Bank, a fact which assists it to implement its cruel policy of forcibly removing Palestinians from the West Bank to Gaza.
